Palestinian Media Watch has subtitled videos taken from Palestinian TV. An example is a video of eleven year old girls describing how they very much want to become martyrs (Shahid), to experience martyrdom (Shahada):

Interviewer: You described Shahada as something beautiful. Do you think it is beautiful?

Walla: Shahada is a very beautiful thing. Everyone yearns for Shahada. What could be better than going to paradise?

Interviewer: What is better, peace and full rights for the Palestinian people or Shahada?

Walla: Shahada. I will achieve my rights after becoming a shahid. We won't stay children forever.

Interviewer: Ok, Yussra, would you agree with that?

Yussra: Of course. It is a good [sweet] thing. We don't want this world, we want the Afterlife. We benefit not from this life but from the Afterlife. All Palestinians, not like other youth, are hot tempered, they choose Shahada, since they are Palestinian.

For those who wonder why there is no peace in the Middle East, this sort of thing may serve as a bit of a clue.

I watched the video and listened to the children talk about "el-shadah". My first reaction is no surprise but disgust without putting the children at fault!! How do you make peace with such "ideology" that prefers to die for a cause even when the alternative is full rights and a peaceful life! and this is coming from the young generation that will ultimately have to take its place (or may be not) in this very confusing ME. I think the promoters learned the art of "propaganda" from the West and they're using it to its full effect in a region where emotions carry the day! On the other hand, if the video shows anything, it shows the gap b/w the Western Worldview and the Islamic one; the only sure way to the "Fardaous" (paradise) in Islam is thru. martydom. No question that their pre-occupation with and focus on the afterlife is right on but it is a twisted pre-occupation. This reminds me (in a way) of a defintion of evil! Having said that, My question to the folks who are endoctrinating the children, is: what is it going to take to live at peace?? Convert to Islam?? Kill all the non-muslims because they do not agree with "us"??? Reminds me of some fundamentalist Christian cirlces I know that build walls, hide behind them and call anyone unsaved, who does not agree with them on all matters especially their interpretation of the Christian life!!! They are both wrong!
By the way, I am from the ME.
